Baseball

So, after almost a decade of not caring, I officially care about baseball again. I think it was the strike of 94-95 that killed the sport in my heart. Being that forgiveness is at the heart of what it means to me human, I am enjoying a baseball reinassance.

The Mariners, the team closest to my heart, are showing some promise this year. Hopefully they can overcome last years relief pitching woes to be a legitimate pennant contender, as they've been a bit lackluster the past few years. I'm hoping that my renewed interest will prove to be the extra motivation that they need.

I don't hear much about the Cubs, but I do hear that Migs' Yankees are struggling enough to prompt public outbursts from Steinbrenner, which brings much joy to my heart. The Mariners just swept the White Sox, though I know most of you Lake Coast fools carry no love for the Sox in your hearts.

So, wherein stand your hearts on the status of America's Pastime, friends? Inquiring friends wanna know...

By the way, does anyone have a working e-mail address for Joel that isn't joel@umphreys.com? Thanks.
